I like your paper. I read it weekly. That’s why I’m so disappointed in the paid advertisement you recently ran across from your opinion page. Why? Because it is nothing more than Andy Caldwell bashing John Laird. He paid you to bash John Laird in what looks like an op-ed piece when, in truth, it is an advertisement. Both you and Mr. Caldwell have misled the readers here, and we deserve an apology. Most of us wouldn’t read a column were it signed by Andy Caldwell. He has been shown to be a shill for the Tea Party and short on facts whenever he writes a column.
If he wants to write as Spike again, please put it back with your ads, and not next to our opinions.
The money you make on his ads cannot offset the readers you will lose.
