Wealth and power are what matters to the ruthless U.S. Wall Street/corporate class. With their control exercised for a long time over the government of the people for the people whether run by Republicans or Democrats, it is inevitable that our capitalist representative democracy would devolve into a chaotic state. The social and other programs of the two differing political parties have survived somewhat up to now. The greed of the oligarchs who fund the campaigns of the politicians has become so thinly veiled that even the most uninformed and brainwashed citizens must be aware that things are out-of-whack as a result.
President Trump is a symptom of this corrupt unfettered capitalism that has run amok. For some time, laws needed for a well-run country have been underfunded, ignored, and repealed at the behest of the elites for their benefit but to the disadvantage of the general public. Trump has surrounded himself with a non-historic type of team of advisors as well as cabinet nominees of mega-wealthy capitalists, many whose known longtime goals have been to destroy the departments they are asked to lead. Also, having four departments or offices headed by former high-ranking military is very worrisome. It looks like a catastrophic demolition derby is underway in D.C. (some of which extends globally)!
