I must take issue with remarks from the Canary in the Jan. 18 edition of the Sun (“Take it seriously”). I don’t understand how someone who obviously voted for a community organizer with only a little under three years’ experience in politics and campaigned with the vague “hope and change” slogan, has any room to make judgments on what makes a suitable contender to be president. If that critic holds that Hillary Clinton—who bashed other women who accused her husband of sexual misconduct and rape, calling them liars, and violated security protocols as secretary of state, and also may have profited from a charitable foundation diverting money for personal use and political favors—is the kind of stellar material we need in the White House, that critic needs a reality check. And let’s not forget how Hillary bought and engineered the Democratic Party to derail Bernie Sanders’ bid for the presidency.
The criticism that President Trump has no civic or political experience reveals that the Canary has never tried to build or manage a multi-story building in the heart of New York, Istanbul, Soeul, or a dozen other cities around the globe. You will have to know everything and more about dealing with politicians and city government if you hope to build landmarks. If President Trump can restore this country to the ideals that it was founded on (don’t laugh), there needs to be another face on Mount Rushmore. Name me one politician that has built anything. You’ll have to go back to Jefferson. I think that’s fine company to keep in politics. So if I may suggest, stick with the local scene or something else you can claim credible knowledge.
