Q: What do you get when you have four engineers in the same room?

A: A string quartet!

Having fun with music and art is a great way for young children to develop verbal skills, creativity, critical thinking, and innovation, so during the month of March, the Discovery Museum is celebrating the arts!

As a great place for learning and discovery, the museum offers programs that are fun but also help with early childhood development skills. This month, we’ll explore all sorts of art forms and allow children and families the chance to play and learn from music and art.

Some things we’ll offer this month include ceramics and sculpture, the symphony, paintings and murals, and modern art. ā€œTuesday Talesā€ will feature pre-school-level stories that have both musical and artistic themes, while ā€œPreschool Patrollersā€ can join us every Wednesday morning to make their own instruments and art projects that allows their inner artist to shine! ā€œTwilight Thursdayā€ will allow school-aged kids the chance to learn about various types of art and music as well; instructors from Allan Hancock College will be dropping by to teach about ceramics and symphony music.

Check our website at smvdiscoverymuseum.org to learn what topics and activities are happening every week. Come play a song on our larger-than-life piano, or take a look at all the murals inside the museum—they’re sure to make you want to dip your finger in some paint. So come on down to the Discovery Museum where we have all you need to get creative this month! āˆ†
