The Guadalupe Kids Come First Foundation will host its fourth annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser on Sept. 30 in an effort to raise money for the Guadalupe Union School District’s academic, athletic, and cultural programs.

The Kids Come First Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting the school district through funding and gifts in-kind, according to a school district press release. The foundation supports Guadalupe sports programs, mini grants for local teachers, and a program that teaches students traditional Mexican folk dances.

Guadalupe Union School District Superintendent Ed Cora said in the release that while all golfers are welcome to participate in the tournament, donations and corporate sponsors are also vital to the fundraiser’s success.

ā€œAll money raised helps our district provide educational opportunities and other necessities for students, which we sometimes cannot afford,ā€ Cora said in the release. ā€œGuadalupe and the surrounding communities have really stepped up to help in the past, and we are hopeful the support continues this year.ā€

This year’s Golf Tournament Fundraiser will be held at Nipomo’s Monarch Dunes Golf Course. Registration will begin at 7 a.m. the day of the tournament followed by tee-time at 9:30 a.m. Registration costs $125 per single person and $500 per team. The total cost, according to the release, includes 18 holes of play, green fees, breakfast, lunch, snacks, drinks, and a barbecue dinner.

Interested golfers can register at guadalupekids.org or call Alicia Julian Solis at 878-7390.
