The city of Santa Maria is inviting locals to learn more about the All-America City at four community meetings scheduled to take place over the next few months. The meetings are designed to provide information and guidance to residents regarding general, city-related questions.

Multiple city departments—including police, fire, and recreation and parks—will be present at the meetings. Residents are encouraged to come prepared for an informal and interactive setting.

Community meetings held in the past have included topics such as neighborhood watch, overcrowding in homes, and the need for more activities for young adults.

Each of the meetings will run from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on the following days: July 21 at the Veterans’ Memorial Community Center, 313 W. Tunnell; Aug. 19 at Santa Maria Public Library’s Shepard Hall, 421 S. McClelland St.; Sept. 23 at Newlove Community Building, 1619 S. Thornburg; and Oct. 28 at Edwards Community Center, 809 Panther Drive.

For more information about the meetings, contact Rosie NƔrez, Recreation and Parks Community Outreach Coordinator, at 925-0951, Ext. 414, or e-mail her at rnarez@ci.santa-maria.ca.us.
