Senior citizens who still want to waltz away for Valentine’s Day, take heart: Though the holiday has come and gone, you can still move to the swooning vocals of the Chairman of the Board. Righetti High School Key Club is hosting a St. Valentine’s Senior dance on Feb. 20, from 2 to 5 p.m. Best of all, the event is free of charge.

The dance will be held at the Luis Oasis Senior Center at 420 Soares Ave. in Old Orcutt.

Formal, ā€œblack tieā€ outfits aren’t required, but attendants should try to dress to impress—because Sinatra and the rest of the Rat Pack wouldn’t dress shabbily.

No reservations are required, and senior citizens are invited to bring a guest.

The dance will include cookies, cake, appetizers, and punch. There will also be door prizes handed out at random times. Women attendees will receive roses.

There’s no need to bring a camera to capture memories from the dance because Photography by Richard will have a backdrop on location.

As for the music, listen up to Robert Huber, a local DJ, who will spin tunes from the ’40s and ’50s. Two barbershop groups—Central City Chordsmen and the Sweet Adelines—will also perform.

In order to jog the memory of the dance hall veterans, Ms. Bergeron and Ms. Shandy Mann will be on hand to give dance instructions, ensuring the dance floor will be full of Fred Astaires and Ginger Rogers.
