• In its March 24 issue, the Sun incorrectly reported the location of an upcoming Luis Oasis Senior Center benefit dinner. The event will be held at the Santa Maria Fairpark, 937 S. Thornburg St., in Santa Maria.
The story also mistakenly blended two programs into one description. To clarify: The center hosts daily luncheons as part of the Community Action Commission’s Senior Nutrition Program. A group of center members meets monthly to bag and distribute groceries from the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County.
• In the Sun’s April 2 issue, the sports article “Girls bring the pain” should have said: “Suarez was born in L.A. and moved to Santa Maria at the age of 9, following her father’s death.”
