U.S. Rep. Los Capps (D-Santa Barbara) attended a series of Cash for College workshops at Central Coast high schools to help get the word out about federal student aid and Cal Grants. The workshops were put on by the California Student Aid Commission to provide assistance with the Free Application for Student Aid and Cal Grand forms to students and their families.

Every year, starting in January and running through the March 2 deadline, the commission helps organize workshops throughout the state to provide resources and information for students and their families as they apply for college financial assistance.

Cabrillo, Santa Maria, and Ernest Righetti high schools were host to workshops.

“College affordability is on the minds of many Central Coast students and parents this time year,” Capps said in a press release. “Now more than ever, it’s critical that students and their families have a clear understanding of the costs of college, as well as the assistance that may be available to make college a reality.”
