This month’s artist reception at Town Center Gallery will feature artist Jean Rittenberg and Cartoonist Leigh Rubin.

Rittenberg paints in oils and on silk and enjoys painting landscapes and abstracts. However, her show at the gallery will feature several mediums. An accomplished artist, Rittenberg has taken private lessons from Warren Frank and, locally, she studied with Marti Fast, Jill Targer, Tina Porter, and her mother, artist Donna Neilson. Her work has been shown in local galleries and at festivals and is currently on display at Bridlewood Estates Winery. She will next exhibit her work at the Artist Alley in San Francisco.

Leigh Rubin, a nationally-syndicated cartoonist, and creator of Rubes cartoon collections, was a school mate of Rittenberg’s husband, Rick, and has been a friend to both Rick and Jean for many years. Leigh will join Rittenberg at the featured artist reception at the Town Center Gallery on Aug. 26, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The exhibit will be on display through Oct. 10. Rubin will have products for sale, and many prizes will be raffled. The gallery is located at 321 Town Center West B-6 in the Town Center West. The reception is free and open to the public. Call 349-7303 for more information.
