Local organization Shoes for Students will host its 14th annual golf tournament on Sept. 7 at the Santa Maria Country Club.
Donations for the fundraiser will help provide footwear to children in local school districts whose families don’t have the means to buy new shoes without help.
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., and the tournament starts at noon with a dinner and moves onto a live auction.
Organizers are asking for a $135 donation, which includes golf, a cart, a tri-tip sandwich, and a dinner buffet. If you don’t play golf, but still want to help, dinner tickets are available for $35 and so are tickets for a raffle to win a $2,000 gas gift card. Tickets are $5 each or $20 for a book of five.
