On Saturday, July 16, Solvang Theaterfest will host a special celebration to commemorate the completion of renovations at the Solvang Festival Theater. The 10-month renovation project began in September 2021 and included new seating and several structural and electrical enhancements to the outdoor theater.
The project’s budget was $5.3 million, according to a press release. To finance the project, Solvang Theaterfest received more than 600 donations from individuals, businesses, and foundations.
“This project elevates an already magical venue to a remarkable new level, now and for generations to come,” Ann Foxworthy-Lewellen, board vice chair of Solvang Theaterfest, said in a statement.
The July 16 event will include a concert with prolific singer-songwriter Mat Kearney, who will perform at the newly renovated theater starting at 7 p.m. This Nashville-based musician has toured with John Mayer and other notable artists throughout his career.
Future programming at the Solvang Festival Theater includes the Pacific Conservatory Theatre’s upcoming production of Into the Woods, which is scheduled to run in August and September. Visit pcpa.org for show times and additional info.
