Junior high students in the Santa Maria-Bonita School District are proud to present their artwork for one weekend only at the city’s public library.

Expanding Perspectives is displayed inside Shepard Hall. Community members are invited to opening night on May 8 from 4 to 6 p.m. The exhibit is also open to the public on May 9 from noon to 5 p.m. and on May 11 from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

Educator Kurt Payne works in visual and performing arts for the district.

“We invite the community to visit the library and join us in Expanding Perspectives through the eyes of our Santa Maria-Bonita School District junior high students. This year’s exhibit challenges us to see the world through fresh, imaginative lenses,” Payne said in press materials. “It is a wonderful opportunity to support our young artists, and since the show runs through Mother’s Day weekend, it makes for an inspiring outing for families to enjoy together.”

Support from the Santa Maria Public Library Foundation and the Santa Maria Fairpark made the show possible.

The library is located at 421 S. McClelland St. in Santa Maria. Visit cityofsantamaria.org for more information.
