Golfer Shane Lebow has been named an HP Scholastic Junior All-American by the American Junior Golf Association. The 2008 Scholastic All-American team is sponsored by Hewlett Packard and consists of 12 boys and 12 girls from throughout the United States, all of whom are great golfers and have high grades. To be eligible, golfers must have finished in the top 10 at an American Junior Golf Association event. The selections were based on GPA, class rank, SAT scores, leadership skills, and community service.
Lebow, a student at Santa Barbara High School, has a 5.0 GPA. He also volunteers at Camp Haverim and as an instructor with the nonprofit First Tee organization. He has five career top 10 American Junior Golf Association finishes.
By being named to the HP Scholastic team, Lebow earns the right to compete in the Polo Golf Junior Classic, one of the most prestigious events in junior golf, taking place at the Ginn Reunion Resort in Florida Nov. 22 through 28.
