The first Philharmonic Rendezvous Series concert will be held at 3 p.m. on Aug. 26 at the Bartlesons’ Ranch, 2080 Los Berros Road, in Nipomo.
Presented quarterly, these house concerts bring classical music home. House “salon” concerts began centuries ago in living rooms, parlors, and drawing rooms surrounded by family and friends. In addition to experiencing the performance of live music, audiences were able to connect with composers and artists as they share insights and thoughts on musical life. House concerts enable listeners to enjoy the music of talented professional artists in an intimate and personal setting.
Relax with a glass of wine in a cozy room and enjoy a live performance of inspired classical music. See performers up close as you’ve never seen before. Enjoy discussion and commentary. Assorted hors d’oeuvres, wines, and other drinks will be provided.
The Burnished Brass Quartet blends the talents of four gifted musicians from the San Luis Obispo Symphony and the Santa Maria Philharmonic Orchestra. Their individual musical experiences are so varied that the combined effect is expertise in a wide range of musical styles, as demonstrated by the selections chosen in their performances. Their repertoire ranges from the Renaissance to the contemporary, from music inspired by religious observances to modern jazz standards and humorous works.
Cost is $50 per person and reservations are required. To make reservations call 925-0412. Future Rendezvous concert dates include Nov. 11, March 24, 2013, and June 2, 3013.
