On Jan. 17 and 18, the Pacific Conservatory Theatre (PCPA) is bringing back its InterPlay reading series with the new musical, Woven.

The story, written by Jessica Smith Campbell, is a fresh take on Homer’s The Odyssey told through Penelope’s perspective. She faces witches and goddesses, testing her resilience while Odysseus is away on his journey.

“Powered by an enthralling original score, Woven delivers a vibrant, female-led story about agency, consequence, and the choices that shape us,” according to the theater’s website.

With mature themes and sexual language, the musical is rated MA. Children under the age of 5 are not permitted.

The Severson Theatre is located at 800 S. College Drive in Santa Maria. Purchase tickets online by visiting pcpa.org/shows. On Jan. 17, the musical starts at 7 p.m. and at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 18. Seating begins 30 minutes before each showtime. Call the box office with questions at (805) 922-8313
