• All Ford car show: The Santa Maria Model A Ford Club is celebrating the 80th anniversary of the 1932 Ford at its 10th annual All Ford Car Show in the Street in Old Town Orcutt on Sept. 8. The show features Ford products from 1903 through 2013, including customs, street rods, racecars, and originals. It includes the grand opening of the new Doc Burnstein’s Ice Cream Lab, a quilt show, live music, and a raffle with special Merle Haggard items and VIP tickets. • P.A.L. Boxing Show: The Police Activities League (P.A.L.), the Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department, and P.L.A.Y., Inc. are combining forces for a sanctioned amateur boxing show in Santa Maria on Sept. 8. Doors open at the Minami Community Center at 6 p.m., with the first bout scheduled for 7 p.m. The show includes eight bouts, music, and food. Admission is $10 at the door. • Cruzin’ for Life: The annual car show, cruise, and concert fundraising event Cruzin’ for Life takes place Sept. 21 to 23 at the Santa Maria Fairpark. Friday’s events include Family Fun Night, an evening of carnival rides and games, a car show meet and greet, and a ’60s dance at the Plaza Pavilion. The event continues Saturday with a car show, live music, a cruise down Broadway, and a dinner and live auction to close out the night. Sunday concludes with a performance by Los Lobos along with Dave Mason, and the Stray Cat Lee Rocker. American Graffiti’s Candy Clark will be the concert host. The event is a benefit for Marian Cancer Care, the American Cancer Society’s Camp Reach for the Stars, and the Young Cancer Survivors Scholarship Fund. For more information, visit cruzinforlife.net.
