The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is offering hunting opportunities on three different properties through its Shared Habitat Alliance for Recreational Enhancement (SHARE) program.
SHARE is holding eight wild pig-hunting periods at Rush Ranch in Solano County from November to February, with two permits per period good for two hunters each. Hunters will have access to 1,000 acres, but methods are restricted to archery, crossbow, or shotgun slugs, and a camp area will be designated for no extra fee.
From December through February, there will be three semi-guided wild pig hunts on the Tejon Ranch in Kern County. Six permits will be randomly drawn for each period good for two hunters each.Ā Each two-and-a-half-day hunt includes lodging and meals, and hunters are allowed to take one pig each.
Waterfowl, dove, and pheasant hunts will be offered on the wildlife management area at the Merced Wastewater Treatment Plant. Located 5 miles south of Merced; the property provides 300 acres for hunting.
