Hear original pieces and old Broadway tunes from singer Gale McNeeley on his four-stop tour in August called My Life in Song. He’ll be joined by pianist Paul Marszalkowski, a musical director at the Pacific Conservatory Theatre.
McNeeley will sing original songs and renditions of musical selections from his time on Broadway. He toured with Marszalkowski last fall, and McNeeley said it was fun to share the stage with such an accomplished piano player.
“My greatest joy is singing to an audience that loves music and loves the type of music that I love,” McNeeley told the Sun.
The duo will play at the Unitarian Universalists church in San Luis Obispo (2201 Lawton Ave.) on Aug. 9 at 3 p.m.; St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Santa Maria (402 S. Lincoln St.) on Aug. 16 at 3 p.m.; Unitarian Society of Santa Barbara (1535 Santa Barbara St.) on Aug. 23 at 3 p.m.; and the Ojai Art Center (113 S. Montgomery St.) on Aug. 30 at 4 p.m.
At each intimate venue, McNeeley said he’s excited to see audience members’ reactions. The first 45-minute act will be followed by refreshments at intermission and a 30-minute second act.
A suggested donation of $15 will be accepted at the door, and there is no assigned seating. McNeeley said there’s room for everyone.
