Tickets are now available for The Right Thing, a new, upcoming musical presented by the Los Alamos Theatre Group. The show is scheduled to premiere on Friday, Feb. 18, and run through Sunday, Feb. 27, at the Depot Mall in Los Alamos. This original production is written and directed by Jeffrey Bloom (the writer-director behind the Los Alamos Theatre Group’s last musical, TRASH) and produced by Carole Bloom.
The plot of The Right Thing follows an advertising executive during “a crisis of conscience,” according to press materials. A variety of strangers come to his aid throughout the show, including a window washer, two custodians, and other characters. The production features six original musical numbers composed by Connie Rohde and Lee Stanchfield.
Proceeds raised through ticket sales will be donated to several organizations, including the Los Alamos Foundation, Shadow’s Fund, Deity Dog Rescue, Los Alamos Senior Center, Santa Ynez Valley Animal Shelter, Los Alamos Kitty Rescue, Search Dog Foundation, Friends of the Los Alamos Library, and the Paso Robles Youth Arts Center.
