Two Allan Hancock College softball players signed letters of intent to play at CSU Northridge, according to a press release sent out Nov. 19.

Katie Chenault and Jessica Rothanzl will continue to grow together as they move up to the Division I level after being teammates for years.Ā

When they were both seniors at Ernest Righetti High School they helped the program win its first CIF title in more than three decades. As freshmen at Hanock last spring, they led the Bulldogs to victory at the Western State Conference championship.

Chenault set a new program record with 370 strikeouts and Rothanzl, a first baseman, led the team with a .439 batting average.

ā€œI am thrilled to play at the highest level of softball and experience Northridge with my best friend,ā€ Rothanzl said in the press release.
