The Central Coast Film Society (CCFS) presents Guillermo del Toro’s 2006 masterpiece Pan’s Labyrinth as a fundraiser on Oct. 18.

The film has been called an Alice in Wonderland for grown-ups, and follows Ofelia (Ivana Baquero), who might be the reincarnation of Princess Moanna, whose father is the king of the underworld and who built labyrinths around the world to act as portals to the underworld so his daughter may find her way back home.

“For their third year in a row, CCFS is bringing the Halloween-time thrills and chills to the Bay Theatre for their Fall Fundraiser event,” the organization announced. “Joining the fun is the legendary Doug Jones—who portrays two of the film’s most iconic creatures (The Faun and the Pale Man)—who will be signing autographs and discussing his work on the film with the audience in an immersive and intimate Q-and-A.

“Also in attendance, and hosting the Q-and-A, is Monse Gutierrez—a prominent

creator in the world of horror and independent filmmaking, spotlighting everything from iconic franchises to emerging filmmakers, often highlighting the cultural influences that shape modern horror. You may know her by her social handle @cvnela.”
