The DANA Cultural Center in Nipomo, home of the historic Dana Adobe, recently held a board election and welcomes longtime and new volunteers in several capacities. The board of directors is in the midst of developing a dynamic heritage park site and Nature Education Facility and will be breaking ground on several projects in 2016.
The board includes President Rudy Stowell, Vice President Jeremy Moreno, Treasurer Mary Mylan, Secretary Roger Ridley, and board members Alan Daurio, Helen Daurio, Donna Gillette, and Brian Craig Kreowski. The group includes local business owners, attorneys, and retired professionals.Ā
DANAās current Board Secretary Susan Gray ended her term after six years of service to the nonprofit.
āMy time served on the DANA Board was interesting, educational, and challenging,ā Gray said in a statement. āI joined just as we were embarking on the Nature Education Facility project, working furiously on the restoration of the Adobe, and trying to develop an interpretive plan. There is still a long way to go to reach the goals set by the board, but I am glad to have been a part of the initial actions.ā
