The Central City Swing Band is preparing a cornucopia of favorite holiday tunes arranged in the traditional big band swing style for its Christmas concert on Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. The band will perform vintage styles as well as some modern arrangements by Tom Kubis.
Bob Swayze—a longtime Central Coast bandleader—directs the 17-musician band that includes saxophones, trombones, trumpets, piano, guitar, bass, and drums. Lead trumpet and flugelhorn player Mitch Latting will also sing.
The concert happens at the Unity Chapel of Light, 1165 Stubblefield Road, Orcutt. More information is available at 929-0552 or centralcityswing.org.
