Law enforcement officers from all ranks and branches, as well as firefighters and public safety volunteers, will be taking part in a boxing show in Santa Maria on Oct. 22.

The event will be a fundraiser in remembrance of fallen peace officer Derrick Rush, whose body was found in Kern River on July 17. Proceeds will go toward a college fund for Rush’s two daughters, ages 6 and 10. The card will feature 10 matches, with fighters subject to change. Donations of any amount more than $199 will qualify for VIP ringside tickets.

The event takes place at the Minami Community Center, 600 W. Enos Dr. Doors open
at 5 p.m.
