About 250 cyclists were welcomed at a celebration dinner in Buellton on Sept. 14, as part of the Arthritis Foundation’s 12th annual California Coast Classic Bike Tour.

Participants started their trek in San Francisco on Sept. 9 and cycled down the California coastline over eight days with a goal of raising $1 million for the Arthritis Foundation.

Once in Buellton, more cyclists joined the group for a 150-mile weekend ride from Buellton to Santa Monica, concluding the Bike Tour. The riders finished their marathon on Sept. 16 after covering 525 miles.

The tour, sponsored by Amgen, featured honorees Robert C. Klapper, chief of orthopedic surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Group; and Lynda Huey, owner and CEO of CompletePT Pool & Land Physical Therapy. Additionally, the Arthritis Foundation named 10 youth living with arthritis to share their stories with riders as they made their way along the route.
