PCPA to auction Model T seen in Ragtime!
Own a piece of PCPA. The beautifully restored and fully functioning 1915 Model T featured in PCPA’s production of Ragtime! will be auctioned off this month. Bidding opens at 8 a.m. on Dec. 12 and closes at 5 p.m. on Dec. 17. The successful bid will be awarded on Dec. 19.
See the vintage automobile from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 12 in front of the Marian Theatre on the Allan Hancock College campus in Santa Maria, 800 S. College Dr. Viewing will also be available by appointment on Dec. 13 and 14. Contact Paul Kaessinger at 878-0013 to make arrangements. Submit bids via e-mail to mblack@pcpa.org or by mail to PCPA Theaterfest, c/o Michael Black, 800 S. College Dr., Santa Maria, CA 93454. All bids must be received by 5 p.m. on Dec. 17. The minimum bid is $13,000. The successful bidder is responsible for sales tax, license fees, and pick-up/delivery.
Audition for Santa Maria Civic Theatre
The Santa Maria Civic Theatre will be holding auditions for the third play of its 50th season. Auditions for Neil Simon’s comedy, God’s Favorite, directed by Carolyn Lori, will be held at the theater on Dec. 8 and 9 at 7 p.m. Lori is looking for four men and three women of various ages. The Santa Maria Civic Theatre is located at 1660 N. McClelland.
Take a ride on the train with Santa
Santa is ditching the sleigh this year for a ride on the Santa Maria Valley Railroad. Join him on Dec. 6 on the La Condesa from the Betteravia Industrial Park to the Guadalupe Interchange—Santa will join the train at the interchange. On the way back, he’ll visit with the children. The ride ends with hot chocolate and cookies, and parents get photos of their kids with Santa Claus aboard the La Condesa.
Prices are $20 for adults and $15 for children 12 and younger. There will be three runs: 1, 2:15 and 3:30 p.m.
