Santa Maria’s holiday spirit grows
Broadway will be a lot more festive this year thanks to more donations from sponsors. During this year’s holiday season, residents will see 36 illuminated displays along Broadway from Stowell Road to Main Street.
The People for Leisure And Youth, Inc. (P.L.A.Y.) and the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce can now purchase eight new dazzlingly lit poinsettias and snowflake displays. Contributing sponsors are P.L.A.Y.; Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce; La Brea Plaza; M&W Pumps; Fusion Contact Centers; Tri W Enterprises, Inc.; Fargen Surveys, Inc.; Rancho Maria Golf Club; Santa Maria Valley Physical Therapy Group, Inc.; Community Action Commission; Mission Community Bank; Sauatt, Albrecht, & Associates, Inc.; the Stewart Family; Urban Planning Concepts; Smith Electric Service; Applied Imaginations, Inc.; and Marian Medical Center.
The project began in 2007, when Broadway was aglow with wreaths, ornaments, poinsettias, snowmen, Santa, and candy canes.
The tentative date for the lighting of all 36 displays this year is Dec. 4.
