Ane McPike, a forward and guard for St. Joseph High School, is one of the top prep standouts in the nation. That pronouncement comes from McDonald’s, which recently announced McPike’s nomination to the 2009 McDonald’s All American High School Girls Basketball Team.

A news release reported that McPike ranks among the top 1,000 nominees, who are competing to fill one of 24 positions on the Girls Team, heading toward an April 1 East vs. West showdown in Florida.

McPike averages 15.3 points per game, and leads the Knights with eight rebounds per game, three assists per game, and three steals per game.

A committee made up of coaches, high school sports journalists, and others selected the nominees. The final roster will be announced in February. m
