I read your article, “The great pill debate” (May 9), with great interest. It’s a timely issue that hits all the right notes, but to actually expect these pharmaceutical manufacturers to contribute to help remove their own trash from society is a bit naïve, don’t you think?
For any large corporation (as well as the Military Industrial Complex) to move in any worthwhile direction, one needs the help of Congress. And these folks all act as if they no longer have to service the public due to their unionized constituents that have grown to believe that they are the only members of society that deserve “service and protection” from law enforcement, courts, and administration of justice working groups bureaucrats pigging out on the public trust.
