Some cuts proposed in President Trump’s budget include: $610 billion from Medicaid (also $840 billion more under Trumpcare) kicking millions of seniors, children, and people with disabilities off their health care; $192 billion from food stamps, which some children need for health; $143 billion from student loans, which makes it harder for students to go to college; $72 billion from benefits for people with disabilities and their families, including up to $64 billion from Social Security Disability Insurance. Trump promised during his campaign he wouldn’t touch Social Security.
Why is he cutting things for the most needy? It is to overfund the bloated military/industrial/security complex and the expanding and unending wars! Not many speak of all of these illegal wars! The Thank the Troops for Their Service campaign was designed to glorify war. Most people feel they are patriotically fulfilling their duty to their country when they publicly thank someone in uniform.
The insanity of empire must stop! The U.S. has military bases and forces all over the globe! While the bombing and slaughter seems so far off, almost like a movie, they are real. Millions of people have been killed, maimed, and starved by our military weaponry.
I want to fervently speak out against immoral and illegal wars! They are extremely profitable for some! While the majority of Americans watch in dismay as our beloved country has become unmanageable, we note the enormous and growing inequality, perhaps greater than existed before the Great Depression!
