In regards to Gale McNeeley’s ā€œPut Andy in the hot seat: Lobbying—against global warming, for instance—isn’t activismā€ (July 12), I want to make sure I get what he said right: ā€œAndy Caldwell is not one of them. He is an ā€˜opinionator’ with a ā€˜bully’ pulpit, and I mean that literally because, as a host, he bullies anyone who calls in with an opposing opinion.ā€ Is the First Amendment forbidden?

Gale’s view seems to be based on unfounded/unsubstantiated science and character assassination.

The thousands of ā€œglobal warmingā€ scientists he refers to have been largely proven to be hack scientists who are mostly not even associated with the study of the climate.

Many of these so-called scientists are either funded by ā€œgreenā€ corporations looking to cash in on the global warming hysteria; agenda-driven U.N. officials and/or divisions, or our own leftist-elite factions of the current United States government regime.

Andy Caldwell might do well to share with Gale the recent (latest and greatest) study that revealed a global cooling trend over the last 2,000 years, substantiated by unbiased/non-political ancient tree rings, which further undermines the global warming alarmists.

These same alarmists were screeching about global ā€œcoolingā€ in the 1970s. Let’s face it; Mother Nature always has been and always will be unpredictable, and now that science is digging into Al Gore and his associates’ propaganda, it’s systematically being debunked. You know, the same Al Gore that has bought beach-front property in California. …

Since I mentioned predictable, I do expect—actually, I demand—that Andy Caldwell in his capacity as a community watchdog help to educate people like Gale. Andy can help break the cycle of far-left Kool-Aid drinking as it relates to socialist propaganda being mindlessly repeated by Gale, and people like him, who attempt to minimize people or perform character assassination when anyone presents an opinion that differs from their own.

In doing something like that, I believe it would underscore why Andy has received five consecutive ā€œbest activist awardsā€ from the Sun’s readers, or perhaps those people are all brainwashed?

Oh well, I guess the truth and differing opinions really do seem to be an inconvenient truth for some people, and I hope that some day Gale broadens his perspective.
