Are you Lucia Mar Unified School Board members for real?
Are you really going to compliantly watch your superintendent treat your most vital resource, your teachers, as if they are adversaries?
Are you really going to continue to watch and allow the compensation schedule for your teachers fall further and further behind that of other districts?
Do you really not understand how that salary schedule affects the districtās ability to attract and retain top teaching talent?
Do you really not understand the long-term effects a substandard, below-the-average salary schedule, i.e. the lowest, will have on the long-term quality of instruction and education in the district?
Do you really not understand that your responsibility is to seek information other that which is spoon fed to you by the superintendent?
Do you really not understand that the superintendent is your employee and acts at your direction? And your role is not rubber stamping his?
Do you really not understand it is your duty and obligation to give the superintendent direction short term and long term regarding creating a competitive salary schedule?
Do you really not understand that your teachers are going to ādo it,ā i.e. strike?!
Do you really believe the superintendentās baloney about strike preparedness and having it handled?
Do you really believe the $155-an-hour hitman is going to fix it, or prevent it from happening?
Did you really approve this expenditure? And if so, can you really sleep at night?
Do you not understand, or do you just not care?
Are you really committed, as your stated objective says, to āsetting the direction for the districtā or instead just keeping a boardroom chair warm on occasional Tuesday evenings and letting your superintendent do all your āworkā for you?
