Editor’s note: This letter was sent to the Sun on Feb. 25 as an open letter to the Allan Hancock College board of trustees, President Gregory Pensa, and Superintendent Kevin Walthers regarding the college’s diversity resolution.

Your resolution on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017, is a farce and based on “fake news” about a mysterious threat to undocumented students and LGBTQ students.

What really is at play here is resistance to our Republican President Donald Trump, whom I am sure all of you radical Democrats opposed.

President Trump has not threatened any such events as you so-called academic leaders are making up stories and fear mongering about. Polls show that academia is infested with Democrats, the majority of whom are probably against our new president whom we all support and want to right the ship of state from eight years of a bumbling, anti-American, radical Democrat, Barack Obama.

You liberals there owe it to the students to provide a fair and balanced atmosphere for learning for the future, not hate and fear mongering. You are promoting bigotry against us taxpayers who pay for what you have there. We taxpayers are sending in our property taxes every year to put up your buildings, and we resent your political actions to vilify our President Trump. You are all really bad examples of leadership on that campus. This unneeded resolution is a clear example of your political malfeasance by using your board meeting to pass what is clearly a political statement with no opportunity for rebuttal.

Your protection of illegal aliens on campus is contrary to your oath to protect and defend the American Constitution. In passing this resolution, you are in violation of that oath and protecting subjects from foreign lands, which is an act of treason on your parts.

Illegals are just that and need to be treated accordingly by the federal laws that govern our land. If you reject these then you cannot stand on any of your laws.

We taxpayers are disgusted with the action of your board and President Pensa.

You are in effect declaring a “sanctuary campus.”
