Your article on Walmart (ā€œLompoc activists look to block Walmart expansion,ā€ Dec. 24) is another case of one-sided journalism. You should have sought other opinions instead of one-sided NPR journalism. I want to rebut the comments of that union ā€œweenieā€ Bob Cuthbert.

No one objected when Vons and Albertsons expanded by 50 percent years ago because they are both ā€œunion.ā€ The only grocery stores that Walmart will hurt are Vons and Albertsons or maybe Foods Co. This whole effort by the unions, aka SEIU, is to try to unionize Walmart. The people supporting the Fund for Santa Barbara are union liberals who opposed Walmart and any job creation in Lompoc and are directly responsible for the loss of hundreds of jobs in Lompoc and for the fiscal downturn in the local economy today.

Remember one thing: Unions have caused more people to lose their jobs than any Japanese or Chinese competition. Walmart will not hurt anyone but the stupid unions. Raah!
