I see weāre still taking the hit from Big Oil, and maybe now the stations. As most of you have read in the paper, the price of oil is now down to the $30-range for a barrel. Isnāt it amazing how the price of a gallon of gas has risen about 35 cents since the crude price has dropped?
Maybe weāre supposed to pray for the price of oil to go up in order to get the price of gas to come down. Golly, it looks like my philosophy of ālower cost means lower pricesā is completely wrong.
Maybe thereās another reason for the jump.Ā As most of you know, if the state budget passes, itās proposed that an additional tax be added to a gallon of gas. You donāt suppose the stations figure they will just raise the price now, before the budget is passed, and then add it on again after itās passed, do you? Hmmmm. Itās starting to stink, isnāt it?
No matter which of the two it is, you and I are getting the shaft again. We have to find some way to get our representatives out of the pockets of the oil giants and finally work for the people. Send Ms. Capps and Ms. Feinstein a note telling them they represent us, too.
