The article about the transformation of Little L.A. is so accurate (“Little L.A.,” April 3). When working in Oxnard and living in Guadalupe, I drove through town Friday nights, and Little L.A. was a very sleepy town. Today, the town is jumping Friday nights and all weekend.

My only concerns are when the 1 Percent moves into town, with wealth from $15 million to $130 million, local housing and our working-class families are in danger. Little LA has the mobile homes by the 101 and other small, affordable rentals.

Soon, the rentals by the bank will become boutiques, and other affordable housing will be torn down for new, expensive housing.

I am impressed with 10 percent of Kurt Russell’s wine profit going to Goldie Hawn’s charity MindUP.

Great idea for the beer maker, baker, and butcher to also donate to a local housing organization. Five Cities Coalition does amazing work in SLO County. Plus, in Guadalupe, we are surrounded by self-help housing/ affordable housing for our working class.

As I drive through Little L.A. and boutiques grow, let’s have affordable, working-class housing also grow. Great to have a town where we have a win-win for all with home sweet homes.
