When people run for office, or citizens put measures or propositions on the ballot, it is their right, and guaranteed by law, to advertise. The cheapest and most common form is to erect yard signs.
My complaint, and it’s directed to those individuals who oppose my views, is to leave my signs alone! It is a violation of the law to vandalize them. You don’t touch my signs, and I don’t touch yours.
I’ve put up numerous signs at three strategic locations in the Orcutt area where no other signs existed before mine. Mysteriously, overnight, my “No on 8” signs were replaced with “Yes on 8”—not on just one occasion, but three. I have also had to replace signs for Lois Capps, Hannah-Beth Jackson, and Measure A.
Please respect other people’s viewpoints because theirs is just as valid as yours.
