These are indeed trying times. The hits on my 401k do not allow me to visit my friends in Canada, and my Canadian friends are telling me there is no way in hell they are going anywhere “south of the border.” I will miss them.
I can no longer avoid buying Chinese products at Walmart by getting them online from Temu. I understand that the parts to keep my old VW running are going up—but not as much as the cost for a new car.
Do truckers still use those old-fashioned CB radios while transporting the diminishing loads of Trump-tariffed imported goods? Will the FCC be monitoring the CB radio bands to ensure the chatter is “English only”?
On the bright side, at least the cost of beer and wine is increasing to the point I can longer afford it, thwarting my descent into alcoholism under the current regime. Unfortunately, as an asthmatic, smoking legal cannabis is not an option.
My only alternative is to continue trying to live my life as a free American until I’m arrested for exercising the rights I held so dear before Jan. 20.
