As a 50-year resident of Santa Maria, and as a retired businessman, I care deeply about this community and its future. That’s why I am voting yes on Measure U on June 5. Without Measure U, our local city cannot hire the firefighters and police officers we all need to protect our growing community.
The minor increase in the sales tax will be enhanced by travelers that stay and shop, plus the shoppers from our local area and surrounding areas.
