Both the media and universities have discovered that the most profitable enterprise is to generate and perpetuate fear. The present big effort is to convince the public that people are responsible for weather change, and that sometime in the future we will suffer from oceans rising, famine, and a lot of problems and losses they can dream up. None of the true information supports that.
As an example: Antarctica, which has 90 percent of the Earth’s ice, is getting more every year. The North Pole temperature is following the sun’s heat patterns precisely. Except for a few cities in the world, temperature has actually gone down. Look at the Weather Channel for extremes, and you will see the 100-plus degrees back in the 1917s to 1930s for Santa Maria.
Most remember the silicon breast implants that all the fearmongers said would create major health problems. Billions were wasted, both pro and con, before they were proven safe. Sugar substitutes would kill you based on lab tests, until it was discovered the rats were given huge doses. Almost every day, there is a new scare that will surely kill if not stopped. I don’t know how we survived all these centuries without these people warning us.
One of the most pathetic results is guys like Al Gore, who has made million perpetuating fear with book sales on a subject he can’t begin to understand.
