Donald Trump’s victory in being elected as the president of the United States, came as a surprise, given what we know about him. I’m not too surprised, when you consider the fickle mindset of many American voters. They hear the political rhetoric, but their mindset fails to intelligently consider its impact on their lives.
Donald Trump’s theatrical performance as a presidential candidate catered to these voters who were disappointed with the performance of our government and wanted a change. But these are the same voters who elected many of the political characters that control and operate our government. Therein lies their fickleness. They aren’t particularly fond of either candidate, and instead of considering the best candidate for the job, they’re mesmerized by Mr. Trump’s rhetoric of change, and they vote accordingly, and look what we got!
Will Mr. Trump attempt to operate the office of the president, as he has done with many of his failed businesses, and thereby cause more division between both parties than currently exists? Or, will he surprise us and perform as the intelligent common-sense individual that the job requires? I don’t think so; his narcissistic, self-centered ego is in control. But, let’s wait and see and stay alert for coming attractions. Perhaps when he realizes that even as president, he’s not totally in control, he will resign. Let’s hope so.
