The article (“Save some for the peaches,” July 16) on gray water was informative, but appears to have left out a major issue. Gray water systems are not appropriate for homes with soft water systems. The sidebar said that water should not contain sodium or potassium chloride, but the article itself never bothered to mention that all softened water contains one of those.
