I’m a disabled vet with a public health-care program, and I’m happy.

My mother felt secure with Medicare and a supplemental insurance. Now, Congress wants to give all Americans an option to buy public insurance at a rate they can afford—creating competition with the for-profits, who have been declining care for decades and killing members of our families by the decisions they have made. Is the current system working well for all Americans? No! Do the for-profit health insurers need competition? Absolutely.

Throw out all the lies and stupid labels, and it’s a fight between big drug and health insurance companies, who are afraid of losing big profits, and the rest of us who just want affordable health care. We deserve to win. Support the public option. Don’t listen to the lying loudmouths on TV and at the town hall meetings. Their agenda is not our agenda. We deserve the change we voted for.
