Compliments on your article (“Embrace the change,” June 28). I’m no “canary,” but I claim to be a “cockatiel.” I am a dyed-in-the-wool progressive, though. At my age and present ability, I am pretty much just a petition signer and help out at the Democratic Club of Santa Maria Valley office, but I appreciate it when I hear like-minded voices. Thanks!
I especially liked what you said about all the corporate building out on Betteravia that did little to further housing needs. Maybe that’s why it was necessary to put that huge sign that reads “House” on the old Enos ranch house–to remind the powers that be just what we really need.
