The misguided liberal religious cult of environmentalists in California and their political supporters—like Lois Capps, Dianne Feinstein, Barbara Boxer, Pedro Nava, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, et al—do not speak for everyone in California.
The majority of Californians support offshore drilling for oil. We also support such drilling in the Florida Everglades, the Gulf of Mexico, ANWR, national forests, and any place in the
U. S. of A. we can find our own oil. And we support the president’s all-inclusive plans for American energy independence, including nuclear and storage at Yucca Mountain. Breeder reactors would reduce the amount of space needed for storage.
California’s finances are in a terrible condition because of mismanagement of our power system by the same stupid liberals in Sacramento. We cannot afford to spend billions of our California or federal tax dollars to stop offshore oil drilling, which we need to support our national oil needs. We have the highest taxes in California because of these actions by the stupid fools running our government. The environmentalists bring up the 1969 oil well break in Santa Barbara but never point to the great record of the oil industry in California before or since then. One train wreck does not stop traveling by train. There was no permanent damage to the environment from that oil spill, because oil is a product of Mother Nature and is biodegradable.
The Santa Barbara environmentalists are a religious cult of extremists like the Hamas. The Environmental Defense Center is the local extremist group that misrepresents itself as speaking for everyone. They do not! There is absolutely nothing threatening to the environment, as history has shown. We want American oil developed, and that means drilling offshore at PXP. Lets get started now!
