Memo to Republicans: The 2008 presidential election is over. You and your phony ideals have been soundly rejected. Your hypocritical and unsubstantiated rhetoric has been overwhelmingly defeated by concepts that have apparently escaped your vocabulary. The concepts I refer to are common sense and morality.
Allow me to explain. Your flag bearer, Ronald Reagan, invented the concept of voodoo economics that your hero, āW,ā expanded even further. The result is the identical devastation of the markets and rising unemployment that we experienced in the Å s. At least R.R. saw it coming and reversed his 1981 tax cuts. āWā was just too inept.
Greedāthe one intangible reality that your self-proclaimed divinely guided wisdom and alleged superior thinking never anticipated or factored into the equationāflushed your supply side theory down the toilet and took the rest of the planet with it. The indisputable fact is that you claim that government āis the problemā and want it reduced, but under R.R. and āWā the U.S. government actually expanded in size (and deceptions) to the exclusive benefit of the privileged. You state you want to ādrown government like a baby in a bathtub,ā then have the audacity ask us to put you in charge of it.
Republicans deliberately practice repression of societal segments and treat political differences with disdain and hatred, then hold up a Bible and proclaim their actions are Godās will and divinely guided. What did Jesus say about hypocrites and money-changers? How about what happens when your actions cause another to lose their faith? I hope the stones around your necks are at least ornamental.
