It was interesting to read Amy’s article on the local Muslims in your Christmas Eve publication (“Holy days,” Dec. 17).

She has a nice writing style, but seems to have violated some basic journalism rules.

Amy reported the Muslim view of Abraham in Genesis as historical fact rather than “Muslims believe.”

I request that Amy use the same “our view” standard to report on Judaism and Christianity in the Jewish Passover and our Easter.

I would also suggest that she read the source documents.

I work with Muslims, have partied with a Mullah at his new mosque in Central Asia, helped set up the visit of a Muslim president to the White House, have eaten with them in Nigeria, and have warmth for them as individuals.

In my view, it would be responsible investigative reporting to find out and report why they have a culture of suicide bombings, beheadings, and their war against the United States, Russia, Philippines, United Kingdom, China, all Christians and Jews, and others, which is reportedly supported by more than 50 percent of the 1.2 to 1.6 billion Muslim population and partly funded by our oil dollars to the most intolerant nation on earth, Saudi Arabia, the “keeper of Islam.”

George Washington and Thomas Jefferson had some letters about them that
perhaps Amy should read.
