The YMCA is celebrating this holiday season with several specialty camps.
For kids whose parents are working over most of the holiday season, the YMCA is offering winter break camps Dec. 21 through Jan. 19. Camp members will get to participate in plenty of fun activities, such as skateboarding, Wii game days, swimming, and arts and crafts. That way parents can work without worry, knowing their children are in a safe nurturing environment and having fun.
The YMCA will also be offering a specialty camp: GirlForce, a program designed to boost the self-esteem of young girls by
teaching them the importance of nutrition, fitness, and body image. The camp will run Jan. 4 through 8, and is open to girls ages 8 to 12. Cost is $70.
Also, babysitting certification classes will be offered Jan. 11 through 15 to kids ages 10 and up.
For more information about any of these camps, contact the YMCA at 937-8521 or e-mail Dana McNutt at dmcnutt@smvymca.org.
