Women’s Economic Ventures recently named Elena Brokaw and Doug Halter to the group’s Board of Directors.
Brokaw currently serves as director of the Community Services Department for the city of Ventura, where she oversees cultural services, recreation programs, social services, and golf. She previously served as manager for the Cultural Affairs Division, where she oversaw the arts agency’s operation and development.
Halter has worked in various marketing and engineering positions for Shell Oil, Proctor and Gamble, Unisys, and several educational software companies. He’s currently involved in a landscaping business and historic residential and commercial renovation projects. He’s served as chair of the board for the AIDS Partnership of Ventura County, the Ventura Chamber of Commerce, and the Downtown Ventura Community Council.
